A Teller on a Summer's Day

Days like these are too long,
everything feels all wrong.
I should be out having fun,
but I cannot leave until
my work is done.

The time is ticking away,
there isn't much left of this day.

At last the time has come,
the moment to prove has begun.
So now I begin with anticipation,
hoping to prove,
and not have this day
end in exasperation.
